The Prize grew naturally out of Maggy Luyten's acoustic collaborations with guitarist Christophe Godin.

The two musicians had first worked together on Epysode's Obsessions. Years later, Christophe joined Maggy for her acoustic project Maggy & Friends, which eventually led to Akoustik Thrill. The chemistry between them inspired the creation of The Prize, with Ivan Rougny on bass and Aurel Ouzoulias on drums.

The band's music combines the power of rock and metal with strong songwriting, groove and the very different musical influences of its members. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2022.
